Bankend Farm is situated at the western end of Ennerdale Lake, Lamplugh. It was farmed by William Robley (1746-1840) between 1790 and 1796. Am inscription over the doorway bears the initials EFR and an inverted heart. This probably relates to previous owners named Rotherie/Rothery.
