Haile Hall

Haile Hall is situated to the east of the village of the same name in west Cumbria, and is of very great antiquity. It dates prior to 1591 as shown in an arched Tudor doorway at the rear of the house. It has been in the posession of the Ponsonby family since earliest times. It was the home of Mary, Lady Ponsonby, the youngest daughter of Thomas Robley of 'Ingelberg', Beckermet, (1833-1902), until her death in 2003.
