ISAAC ROBLEY

Pictou Advocate, 19th October, 1923.

A large number of friends and relatives gathered at the old homestead on Rogers Hill, on Friday of last week, to attend the funeral of Isaac Robley. The service was conducted by his minister, Rev. John D. MacLeod, assisted by Rev. Ernest Forbes, of Scotsburn. The interment was in Haliburton Cemetery, Pictou. Mr. Robley had been in poor health all summer. He was a man of kindly, genial disposition and will be greatly missed. His wife died many years ago, when the children were small, and it was often remarked, of him, that he bestowed upon the children the affection that was like unto that of a mother. One sister alone, of his father's children survives, Mrs. Matheson of California. Of his own children, five survive, three daughters, Mrs. John Thomas Matheson of Scotsburn, and Ella and Anna Bell, at home, and two sons, Harold of Boston, and Rod, at home.

Isaac Robley: born 28th February 1849; christened 9 August 1849; married Catherine Jane Mackenzie, 2 February 1884; died 10 October 1923; buried 12 October, 1923 in Anglican Cemetery, Pictou, NS.
